Destination-controlled ARQ Strategy for Relay Cooperative System

Wenbo Wang · Jisuanji fangzhen · 2008

A novel ARQ (Automatic Repeat reQuest) protocol for relay cooperative Rayleigh fading system was proposed, which is the destination-controlled protocol, and the control is based on the outage probability. In this protocol, a SNR threshold is set according to the performance requirement, retransmission depending on whether instantaneous received SNR of relay is higher than the threshold or not, that is outage or not. If higher, retransmission is not needed, that will reduce the system time delay. Numerical analysis and simulation under the block fading channel show that when the uplink qualities of the source and relay are worse, the average received SNR of the destination is lower, the system performance can be improved efficiently.
