Computer-aided method for determining maritime search area

In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of maritime search and rescue,a computer-aided search area model is set up.In this model,the search datum is determined by computing the influence of sea current,wind current and leeway to search objects,and the search area is determined by considering total probable error of position,available search effort,coverage factor,etc.Finally,the above computing processes are translated into computer algorithm and a computer-aided program was complied for determining the search area.The validity of the proposed approach is verified by a sample case.
