Synthesis of Pitavastatin Calcium

Pitavastatin calcium was synthesized from(E)-3-[2-cyclopropyl-4-(4-fluoro-quino-lin-3-yl)-propenal by the four steps reactions including condensation,reduction,hydrolysis and chemical resolution. This method has many advantages such as mild reaction conditions and simple procedure,which can be suitable for industry.
