In a wireless sensor network, reduce the energy consumption will result in higher latency. For the balance of energy consumption and delay, this paper put forward a dynamic average queue delay buffer based on duty cycle MAC protocol. The protocol was used to detect the network load by the average queue delay buffer,to forecast the change of network load timely and accurately, thus the duty cycle was adjusted in time.At the same time, the buffer queue delay was weighted average using the node energy index, limited the excessive use of node energy, prolonged the network lifetime. The simulation results showed that the improved AQD-MAC protocol has obvious advantages in terms of energy consumption and network delay.
