Fault tree expert system (FTES) is GUI software based on the local database, which is developed to aid the FT-building work of fluid systems in NPP. The system applies the conception of continuously tracing and standard sub-tree, and uses both synthesis and deduction method of FT building. It has the typical structure of an expert system. By the application of FTES, the quality of level I PSA can be improved.
