Representation and Reasoning of Part-whole Relations in Military Conceptual Model

Various complex relationships exist among military conceptual model factors. Part-whole relation among these factors is an important type of relationship, which decides the relation between internal composition and components of the unified whole model. Firstly, various types of part-whole relations in military conceptual model were classified ontologically in detail. Secondly, the relationships were formalized by using description logics. Finally, the reasoning algorithm on checking the validity of the relationship instance was proposed.
