Approximate Solutions to Thermoelasticity by Compactly Supported Wavelets

The problem of quasi-static thermoelasticity is reduced to ordinary differential equations(ODEs).By approximating to ODEs via compactly supported wavelets,the convergence of approximate solution is analyzed and the sparsity of coefficient matrices is obtained: mass matrices are unit and stiffness matrices are band ones with its width independent of the scale j.
