Applied research on the building of OLAP

This paper intends to look at the basic essentials that such an application should satisfy to qualify as an OLAP application. By examining what OLAP application is expected to do I will come up with the specific requirements. These requirements range from the ability to carry a fast query to complex mathematical calculations down to allowing read/write user environment without compromising security.
