HRMA-based cognitive radio MAC protocol
Fei Wei · Telecommunications for Electric Power System · 2007
Cognitive radio is a new technology that can sense the availability of local spare spectrum and uses it adaptively to communicate with each other. In a multi-hop network consisted of cognitive radio nodes, the number and attribute of available spare channels of each node is not only different but also changes due to the dynamic change of spare spectrum according to time and location. All of these make the design of the Media Access Control(MAC) protocol difficult for cognitive radio. This paper presents a Dynamic Channel-Hop Reservation Multiple Access(DC-HRMA) protocol based on the original HRMA.It solves the problem affecting the channel access and quitting no need for common channels.
