Motion Estimation Algorithms Based on Split-merging of Block Mode Selection

In order to simplify enormous computing capacity in H.264 video compression coding standard, a fast motion estimation algorithm of H.264 is proposed.The algorithm combines seven variable block sizes, and uses principle of split-merging method, so that the block modes are fixed beforehand for inter-motion estimation.In this way, the image quality and coding efficiency are all ensured, and the application needs of the multimedia are satisfied.
