Treatment Model Transformation of Elderly Critical Cadres Patient

To increase the survival rate of elderly critical patients,our hospital changed the previous decentralized treatment model and set up an intensive care unit especially for geriatric patients.Our two years practices showed:the number of deaths decreased 30% annually instead of past 10% increase.The survival rate of elderly critical patients was increased to 73%,up from 48%.Results suggest that the foundation of ICU for geriatric patients was the key point in increase the survival rate a decrease the mortality in elderly critical patients.
