Number of Common Neighbors-based Encoding Algorithm in Wireless Networks
Gan Guo-zheng · Journal of Chinese Computer Systems · 2010
Based on the information of the received packets of neighbors,a node transmits encoding packets of some native data packets by using network coding to reduce the number of transmissions. Therefore, network coding can improve network throughput and decrease energy consumption. The number of common neighbors-based encoding (NCNBE) algorithm was present. Its main idea was that a model graph was constructed and two vertexes associated with an edge with the maximum number of common neighbors were combined until the graph has no edge. The simulation results show that our NCNBE algorithm can achieve the number of transmissions decrease of up to 14% over the practical greedy encoding algorithm.
