Research on Lightning Strike Risk Evaluation Technique for Petrochemical Control Room

Based on the analysis of many lightning strike risk evaluation methods used in developed countries, the standard IEC62305 was adopted as reference in the consideration of calculation method, reasoning and comprehensive parameters. Then, combined with the domestic relevant standards, the features of petrochemical rooms and practical investigation results, as well as adjustment or increase of parameters, the lightning strike risk evaluation method for petrochemical control room was determined. The method has been applied to evaluate the lightning strike risk of a petrochemical control room and the lightning prevention device has been consummated according to the evaluation conclusion. The significant effect on lightning prevention has been achieved.
