Comparative Analysis of DTD and Schema in Applications of Electronic Commerce

This paper makes comparative analysis for applications of XML DTD and XML Schema in E commerce. The main functions of E commerce standard cXML are introduced. Main elements in the DTD and principle of Punch Out are analyzed. Several significant applications of XML Schema for E commerce are discussed, such as building more distinct content model, more plenty data type, and data type constraint using XML Schema.
