Design and realization of National Water Environmental WebGIS Information System based on ArcIMS

Based on ArcIMS 9.0 system, a WebGIS information system of national key water quality station data is designed and developed in combination with the programming technologies, such as ASP, JavaScript,etc. This system realizes not only the WebGIS online publishing of the environmental information of over 160 key water quality stations within the whole country, but also realizes the functions including the statistical analysis of each water quality index, such as maximum, minimum, average, elements exceeded standard, and exceeding standard multiplying, etc.; which has the functions of 2-D or 3-D chart visualiziton analysis of water quality index, the attribute data inquiring of water environmental information and the spatial inquiring of water quality stations in the whole county. Meanwhile, through the function of the management and the authority of this system, the water environment monitoring data from the basins on all levels concerned and the relevant water environment monitoring centers can be input and managed online, and the data of water quality assessment can be written into the database automatically as well.
