Using Multi-dimensional Spherical Constellation Mapping to Reduce the Terminal Power Consumption

Jianbo Ji · Telecommunication Engineering · 2010

One of the most challenging and important topics for future wireless communications is the power consumption of wireless and mobile handheld devices. In order to solve the problem of terminal power consumption growth and keep the system SNR unchanged,multi-dimensional spherical constellation mapping is proposed to replace cube constellation mapping. The simulation results show that multi-dimensional spherical constellation mapping can reduce terminal power consumption and also improve the ability of resisting interference.
