A New Fast Search Algorithm of Motion Estimation in H.264
Haidong Zhu · Journal of Hohai University Changzhou · 2006
H.264 is a new video compression code standard. It has high efficiency of compression. But its computational complexity is very high. The most time-consuming part is motion estimation. In order to reduce the motion estimation time, this paper proposes a new fast search algorithm in detail, and compares it with some previous fast search algorithms. The experiment shows that this new fast search algorithm not only reduces the motion estimation time greatly, but also gets good quality pictures,so it has high application value.
