Design and Implementation of a Semantic-based Visual Description Tool for Information

Within large-scale wide area resource distributed environments,the unified description of heterogeneous information is the base of efficient information integration and service.In this paper,a model based on conceptual model and metadata for information resource description is proposed.The visual tool based on that model is designed and implemented.It is named SUDTI(Semantic-based Unified Description Toll for the heterogeneous Information).SUDTI storages the description result with XML and employ the symbols in class diagram of UML to show the result visibly.SUDTI can satisfy most information systems' requests about information resource description.
