A Method of Video Processing that is Used to Eliminate Sawtooth and Suited forHardware Implementation

This chapter aims at the phenomena of motion fake image and sawtooth when converting the interlaced signal to the progressive signal. Firstly we introduce usual methods to eliminate the fake image and sawtooth, such as 3x3 window's filter based on edge detection, the filter based on motion detection, and secondly we present one maximum value filter method based four directions median filter which suited for hardware implementation. It is not only simple to hardware implementation and has a better effect, but also can reduce the noise and hold image detail.
