Measuring and displaying the occlusal movement trace based on Patriot

The occlusal movement trace is an important factor to evaluate state of the jaw position.A novel method based on Patriot sensors for measuring occlusal movement trace was proposed: firstly,fixing the plaster model of jaw on the YAMAHACHI articulator;secondly,by means of Patriot sensors,measuring the space coordinates of YAMAHACHI articulator during its movement.Lastly,simulating and displaying real-time trace by self-developed controlling software.The experimental results showed that the proposed method could simulate the occlusal movement trace quickly and intuitively,and it also has better feasibility and adaptability.
