The elevation provided by GPS survey is the GPS geodetic height based on WGS-84 ellipsoid parameter, whereas the normal height is used in China. The geodetic height is the sum of normal height and height abnormity. To use the GPS elevation in engineering, there must be height abnormity and normal height. This paper presents an improvement of the network topology and BP algorithm to convert GPS height, and the actual use GPS measurement data samples were calculated and analyzed. The conclusion indicates that the neural network method used GPS elevation accuracy of the conversion is better than the frequently used quadratic polynomial surface fitting, but also relatively stable conversion accuracy.
