Semantic Grammar: A Brief Introduction

This paper introduces the theory of semantic grammar with remarkable Chinese characteristics, which inherits the outstanding traditional study on Chinese grammar represented by Lu Shuxiang and Zhu Dexi, follows the research method of from meaning to form, and proposes that semantic meaning should be the key to researches on Chinese grammar. The paper states a series of significant matters of semantic grammar, concerning its theoretical background, development, contents and research methods.
