Adaptive Multi Scale Edge Detection

An adaptive multi scale edge detection algorithm and its fast implementation are presented in this paper. The algorithm detects edges by adaptively finding the optimal filter scale for each pixel with less computation. A method is presented to determine the range of edge scales of an image adaptively. The edge scale is treated as a parameter to describe the edge characteristic. The method is used in detecting edges of real images, and the result is satisfactory.
