Methods To Improve Storage Performance For Streaming Media Services

We analyze the limit of traditional methods to improve performance of streaming media storage systems,including RAID grouping,I / O scheduling and prefetching. To overcome the drawback and further reduce the disk seek and rotate time,we present ways to fully utilize the characteristic of storage devices. The new methods are respectively called independent streaming storage,laten- cy caching and rehearsal. Both theoretical and experimental evaluation are done to justify the proposed methods.
