Study on FEC code type for optical transmission systems

The forward error correction(FEC) code types that apply to optical transmission systems have been theoretically analyzed.The main construction methods of the FEC code type for optical transmission systems are proposed,which establishes a firm foundation in the construction and simulation research of the FEC code type for optical transmission systems.The comparative analysis of error-correction performance for the in-band FEC code type and out-of-band FEC code type in optical transmission systems are performed,and the analysis shows that it is necessary to study the super forward error correction(Super-FEC) code type with the better error-correction performance in order to meet the requirements of the increasing development for optical transmission systems.
