When classical theories respond to the question how a name can refer to its object, all of them are confined to proper name, seeking for the justification of the possibility by defining names, but the results are not satisfying. This paper tries to demonstrate the necessity and importance of introducing the perspective of action theory into the study of this problem by analyzing the classical theories, and explain the basic approach of applying Logical Actionism Methodology in discussing the relation between names and objects.
