Summary of image edge detection

Objective—To introduce the present situation of image edge detection technology.Methods—The classical edge detection operator and new methods of edge detection is summarized,analyzes the characteristics and processing performance of all kinds of algorithm,furthermore,the advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm is discussed.Results and Conclusion—Each method has its advantage and disadvantages,reasonable methods of image edge detection is needed to choice according to actual situation.
