Discussion on the Algorithm for Line Intersection Recognition

There are a lot of intersections in the maps. Whether these intersections can be detected and processed cor- rectly and effectively, is the key point of the maps auto- recognition technology. Focused on the features of the intersec- tions, an algorithm for line intersection recognition, which is based on the predicting- while- tracing technology, is pro- posed in this paper. By forward scanning and rotating the cross detection diagram, different intersections are detected effectively. According to the features of the two crossing contours, such as line thickness and texture features, the in- tersection phenomenon can be recognized and processed. This algorithm has been proved to be efficient by the experi- ment results.
