Tahe oilfield′s carbonate reservoir is buried deeply with normal depth over 5300m.The dominated system of carbonate reservoirs are fractures, corrosive caverns and serious heterogeneity in plane, which are difficult for transverse prediction of the reservoir distribution. The describe of reservoirs using the tradition resolution method is very difficult. The paper expatiated basic theories and principles of wavelet transform and introduced the separate frequency interpretation technique by wavelet transform.Theoretic model near real deep based on the geological analysis results was made to prove the feasibility of separate frequency interpretation technique. Finally, this technology was applied to actual seismic data in Tahe oilfield, and the predicting results for oil and gas accorded with the drilling result. The spectral decomposition can improve effect of carbonate reservoir prediction.
