Combined with a main reservoir project in southwest China and based on investigating the slope structure of different causes and granularity composition, the underwater stable angles of slopes with different loose deposits during the medium-term of reservoir operation were measured, and the granularity composition at corresponding site was analyzed. The comprehensive characteristic values of different deposits were obtained by using the fractal theory, and the content of fine particles was calculated. On such a basis, two expressions for the relationship between the granularity composition and the underwater stable angle were established.Accordingly,as for different loose deposits in reservoirs, only the granularity composition was measured for the corresponding underwater stable slope angle so as to predicate the range of bank collapse.
