Real time measurement of complicated medium is the important foundation to provide a robust, real-time and intelligent detonation decision for the fuze.Rule based feature extraction is a new measuring method, in which features are selected in the following categories:the intensity of signals,the magnitude of their derivative and the sudden changes of the intensity of signals.The result of the real-time identification of a medium with this method shows that it provides a perfect identification for typical medium data sets.Comparing with previous methods the real-time identification method can identify much more medium and multilayer medium.It is sensitive and simple and convenient to utilize in the practice.
