Recognition of FMCW and PMCW Radar Signals

To classify advanced radar signals,the recognition algorithm of frequency modulation and phase modulation continuous wave(FMCW and PMCW) radar signals is presented. Firstly,the feature of autocorrelation function about the periodic continuous wave(CW) signals is analyzed theoretically. Then,the modulated period is obtained via the autocorrelation function. The time-frequency representation( TFR) is gotten via the noncoherent integration of time-frequency domain for signals which are segmented based on the modulated period. According to the extracting of time-frequency ridge and the processing of time-frequency image in the TFR,the types of modulation can be recognized eventually. The results of simulation show that the algorithm has a good performance at low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).
