Research status and development trend of microbial flocculants

Microbial flocculant (MBF) is a kind of natural macro-molecular flocculants and is widely used for water treatment and food fermentation industrial processing because of the properties of high efficiency innocuitv, without second-pollution, etc. The research status and development trend of MBF is summarized. It discusses its properties, characteristics as well as classifications. Cost reducing, application of biological technology and its compound with traditional flocculants will be the trend to solve the difficulty in the development of MBF.
