Research and Development of Active Network

Active network(AN) is a novel network architecture.Comparing with the traditional network,active networks add more processing capability and programming capability into the network nodes,such as routers or switches.Active networks provide easy and flexible introduction of service customizing dynamically to users.Following the rapid development of diverse network applications,users demand the network to provide more and more flexible and extensible network services.In this paper,the current researches about active network are discussed.Combining with the current latest research and novel application based on active network,the prospect of active networking techniques is put forward.
