Research on performance of clustering-based consensus protocol in mobile Ad Hoc networks

A clustering-based consensus protocol(CBCP) to solve the consensus problem in mobile Ad Hoc networks is proposed in this paper.The CBCP protocol includes clustering and detection layer and consensus layer.The clustering and detection layer clusters the network into two layer and uses failure detector(FD) to provide the network status to consensus layer,the clustering method can reduce the number of messages in order to save the cost.The performance analysis shows that the proposed protocol can significantly save time and message cost compared to the existing protocols.
