To support the advanced concept technology demonstration of operational applications of warfare system, according to the characteristic of an agent as an intelligent entity, the mappings from warfare system’s members to respective agents were established. Thus,platform-level agent-based modeling (ABM) approach was proposed. On the basis of analysis on agents’ concept and principium,task-tree decomposition approach and knowledge representation by production rules were used to design simulation demonstration system’s components,i.e. agents. Multiple intelligence reconnaissance platforms (multiple sensors) on future information battlefield were taken as study case to develop the simulation demonstration system. Simulation demonstration results show that the system model’s advantages on realizing distributed simulation for the external, dynamic, complex and intelligent process of tactical intelligence reconnaissance on information battlefield.
