Safe Evaluation of Weld Defects in Steam Boiler Used in Power Plant

In view of welding defect of a boiler separator in service, ASPV and a new edition safety assessment of R6 for invalidation have been applied to make a safety assessment. The results indicated that L_r0.8, a M~2a m; K_rK_(rmax), and the existent of defect was allowed. Even if the defect was not been disposed, the boiler separator would work safely in its work pressure and temperature. Having served for ten years, it is proved that the theoretical assessment is feasible under the work condition. It offered reference data for extend application of safety assessment and made straight economic effectiveness.
