Reliability of OpenFlow-based SDN

Zhang Tuanl · Electronic Science and Technology · 2016

SDN is a new type of network framework that separates control plane and forwarding plane and provides network management with programmable interface for easier SDN network management. With the increasing application of OpenFlow-based SDN,its problems have also been revealed among which reliability is of great importance. This paper analyses factors that causing network failure, classifies network failure into controller, link and node failure, and presents solutions concerned. Finally the trend of future study on the reliability of OpenFlow-based SDN is pointed out.
