Analysis of Fault Trend of Bearings Based on Shannon Entropy of Symbolic Series

The problem of how to translate a time series into symbolic series, t hat means signal coarse -grained, was discussed. The symbolizing regulations of binary and probability Stat. were given. According to the method of calculating symbolic series Shannon entropy and the coding method, the results of rolling bearings shaft vibration have been calculated. The results indicate that t he Shannon entropy can reflect the trend of rolling bearings' fault.
