Motion Estimation Algorithm Based on the Centre Shift Feature of Motion Vector Difference

A new fast motion estimation algorithm based on the centre shift feature of motion vector difference is proposed.According to this feature,the predictive precision is improved and the concept of still macro-block is expanded.We adaptively choose Line-Square with Small Diamond and Line-Large Diamond with Small Diamond Search strategies according to the motion activity pattern of current macroblock.Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is a fast and efficient motion estimation method.
