English Readability Measurement Programming

English readability refers to ease with which a text is read and comprehended. It is an important conception in applied linguistics. Researchers are trying to measure readability accurately. Author makes an attempt to develop an English readability measurement program named ERMS. Flesch Reading Ease, the word bank on the basis of CET-4 and CET-6 word list and measurement of lexical density make ERMS most applicable for college English teaching in China and a convenient tool for measuring readability.
