The design and research for distributed radioactive source security monitoring system

The safety of radioactive sources was the most important problem which the nuclear companies and institutions as well as the government pay more attention to. The traditional manual monitoring method is generally not a real-time one. Once the nuclear accident took place that the radioactive source was lost or people were irradiated,great threat would be brought to people's lives and property. This paper presents a distributed architecture based on comprehensive use of networking technology( eg:GPRS,GPS,GIS,databases,radio frequency identification technology) and radioactive sources security system and provides a real-time monitor for the radioactive sources and device and the radiation dose.
