Complexity analysis of H.264 encoder

This paper analysed the H.264 encoder tools:inter block size,Hadamard transform,RD optimize,B-frame,CABAC search range and multi-reference.The experiments showed that different encoding tools had varied influence of encoding performance:first,some tools had little effect on encoding performance but greatly increased computing complexcity;second,a proper choice of encoding tools could balance the encoding performance and computing complexity;third,complex settings had limited increase in encoding performance for low bitrate application but were more useful for high bitrate application.
