The first approach is based on the experience of cardiologists. Under this approach, a computer program tries to identify all physiological and important clinical parameters like P, Q, R, S, T waves in ECG signal.

The diagnosis is based on amplitude and time duration measurements of these waves and of the time intervals between them. [~. The method described in this paper identifies the important clinical parameters for recognition of ECG signals with the help of Haar's orthogonal transformation. The other approach is based on the application of mathematical techniques to the preparation for and classification of ECG signals in different diagnostic cate gories. The method presented here uses the results of Shannon's communication theory along with the theory of pattern recognition. The algorithm for diagnosis is equivalent of Lester's method [7] but it is easier for computer implementation.
