A Control Theory Based Performance Isolation Framework for PaaS

In current PaaS, system resources are shared by user applications by using multi-tenancy mechanism. The contention for resources introduces performance interference between applications, which manifest as instability in performance. To address this challenge, we developed a control theory based framework which dynamically adjusts the resource allocation according to periodically measured application performance metrics so that the instability is minimized.
