Research of Domain Ontology Construction Method Based on Relational Database

The paper puts forward with a method that constructs ontology with the relational database in order to improve the effect of ontology construction. It makes use of the opposite project of the Power Designer to obtain the end database of the conceptual data model. Then it forms an ontology-based relational database construction method between ER model and OWL ontology through a series of transformation. The results show that the method decreased a quantity of handwork, improved the model construction proficiency as well as that ontology quality is much better than the traditional one.
