A Logistics Information System Based On SOA

Logistics is developing with business globalization. An enterprises' success depends more on IT and E-business. The traditional information system can't fulfill this requirement. We need a technique to integrate different systems. The integration of the traditional systems and the new ones is the function of SOA. So the logistics information system relates to many areas of the enterprises that can use this architecture. The integration of a logistics information systems is a crucial issue for modern business. This paper will first describe the advantage of Web Service which is the core technology of SOA. The second, the theory of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and enterprise service bus (ESB). And the third, a general design for a logistics information system based on SOA and ESB. In the end, with the analysis of a real logistics information system based on SOA (LISBS) in a distribution center, a SOA solution is provided for the distributed logistics information system in the paper.
