Chinese CogBank : W here to S ee the C ognitive F eatures of Chinese W ords

Metaphor processing has been a heated topic in NLP. C ognitive properties of a are important in metaphor understanding and ge n- eration. But data coll ected aut o matically tend to be reduced in both quantity and quality . T his paper introduc es CogBank a database of Chinese concepts and their associated cogni- tive pro p erties. The database was constructed using simile templates to e x tract millions of word - pr operty pairs via search engine over the World Wide Web . A method of manual check and correction was then implemented, resulting in the current CogBank database which contains 232,590 word - property pairs. CogBank also provides v arious search and visualiz ation services for observing and com- paring associations between concepts and properties .
