EPRI`s FGDPRISM model has been extensively applied for investigating optimization and removal enhancement options for FGD systems since its initial release in 1991. The model has been validated for a variety of FGD systems and operating regimes. This paper presents a brief update on the status of the model and gives results from several recent FGD applications. Version 2.0 of FGDPRISM was released in 1993 and has had only a few updates since that time. The updates have included enhanced equipment arrangement options, improved user friendliness, and more efficient and accurate calculational methods. The primary input has been user feedback via an electronic bulletin board system, a support hot-line, and Users` Group meetings.
