A Study on Braking Curve Model Design for ETCS-L2 Onboard Signaling Equipment

The European Train Control System standard specifications ETCS (European Train Control System) signaling system has been applied and built as a standard feature on the domestic and foreign countries. The main-line railway applying ETCS Level 2 signaling system using wireless communication between wayside and onboard signaling equipment have been propagated in foreign countries. The signaling system of main-line railway in domestic is based on Level 1 and Level 2 signaling system is developing. In this paper, we describe Braking Curve Model Design that generating braking profile for the operating safely in accordance with limit speed based on information received by radio from wayside signaling system.
